Personal Advising and Application
One on One or Small Group Session and check in with learning & building your Scope Of Practice
- You are welcome to use the hours as you need. Those marked (required) must be used there, for that minimum amount of time.
- IPEC may request specific learners to participate in more Personal Advising and Application (PAA) sessions based on work in labs and/or discussions in other PAA sessions.
- There are a minimum of 15 PAA Sessions for accreditation.
- We recommend 20 hours of PAA sessions.
- Additional hours may be purchased at any time to spend more time in discussion as you need. These are only minimums.
- If you do not wish to certify with IPEC, you may purchase a la carte mentorship hours within each module to discuss topics. Or you may purchase professional mentorship hours here if you would like to discuss a case study in your work.
- If you must enter remediation with IPEC, 5 hours of PAA sessions will be required.
Mentorship at IPEC is a personal, human-first approach that begins on Day 1. Your Intake Interview is a 1-1 session with an IPEC staff member about your goals, learning style, needs, background and more. This session is a time for us to learn how to set you up for success in your learning at IPEC.
Our modules are virtual and self-paced, allowing you to learn when and how you are ready. Each module also includes:
- Labs, which is virtual or in-person small group time with IPEC Instructors to apply material.
- Personal Advising and Application sessions (you may choose to do this individually or in a small group) to discuss with an IPEC Instructor how YOU are bringing your learning to your work.
There are over 100 hours of mentorship with IPEC, at least 15 of which are Personal Advising and Application sessions. These sessions are led by you, as you discuss your curiosities and discoveries, and question your learning and practice. Experienced IPEC Instructors provide feedback and perspective during these times.
At IPEC you are encouraged to bring your learning to your work, from Day 1.
- Personal and human-first
- Advising in real-world application
- Guidance throughout the process; ongoing from day 1
- Guides learners to their own discoveries
- Lead with curiosity
- Accountability
