Accessibility Lab for Intimacy Professionals with Chels Morgan and Rachel Flesher

Objective: In this live, virtual workshop, participants will examine their relationship to the concepts of Disability, Accessibility and Ableism. Through group processing and media analysis, students will identify ableist tropes in media, especially as they show up in intimate scenes, and will identify at least 2 actionable steps they can take to make their processes more accessible for disabled people. Guiding Questions: What is ableism? How do we define Ability and Disability? How does ableism show up in our media? How does ableism show up in our practices as intimacy professionals? How can we make our practices more accessible?

Deep Dive on Verticals with Olivia Ku _ Live Lecture & Q&A _ April 19th

In this Live Lecture it will be a deep dive into verticals as an Intimacy Coordinator. What are they? How do they function? What are IC role expectations and how to rise with the tide? Class will be around 3 hours long and will include a Q&A. Recording will made available for those who purchase the live lecture. This class will be made available later as well without the Q&A. The Introduction to Verticals lecture offers an industry overview of vertical filmmaking through an Intimacy Coordinator lens, helping you understand how the format works, who the major players are, why it’s growing so quickly, the ethical considerations, and what that means for on-set best practices. The Intimacy Coordinating for Verticals lecture is a process-driven session that walks through the full lifecycle of the job—from getting hired, rates and negotiations to prep, to on-set execution, through wrap. We’ll also cover common pain points and glimmers of working as an IC in this space.

Kissing: Strategies for Rehearsal & Performance with Rachel Flesher

In this class we take a deeper dive into choreographing kissing for Intimacy Coordinators, Intimacy Directors, and Intimacy Educators. Learners will be taken through kissing considerations in film, in live performance, and in academia. Participants will learn tools for setting and upholding boundaries in scenes with kissing, how to develop and maintain kissing choreography for multiple mediums, and consent based facilitation tools to support scenes with kissing. No kissing is required in this class. Depictions of kissing will be used to explore the technical elements of choreography and for discussion on language for supporting scenes with kissing.
