Gender and Sexuality Lab with Chels Morgan and Rachel Flesher _ July 31st

In this lab participants will explore gender & sexuality, how it plays a role in the stories we tell, how to advocate for actors in cases where misgendering or gender based bias is in play, practice using neo-pronouns, learn best practices around disclosure, what to do when a character and actors gender do not align, how do discuss garment needs, and explore personal bias around gender. This lab will utilize scenario based work and discussion to practice integrating these skills.

Embodied Consent Lab with Nicole Perry _ August 1st

In this workshop we will cover the basics of consent and your body. Participants will learn communication tools for setting clear boundaries and expectations, explore language they can use to make a more consent based and embodied process, and participate in exercises to begin to somatically integrate consent.

You go through all what IPEC considers essential learning for the Intimacy Coordinator - Introduction to the job and power constructs of consent, self-care; Critical Thinking with Intersectionality about Gender, Sexuality, Race and Identity; the powerful awareness on how to care for yourself and the collaborators with Bystander Intervention & Non-Violent Communication. We also invite you to bundle this with an Intake Meeting so we, the Staff at IPEC, can get to know you more and give you personalized mentorship on how we can be supportive that you get the most immersed start of your education. As well as 2 PAA sessions to have mentorship on Intersectionality and Non-Violent Communication.
